An original work by Dublin-born artist John O’Donnell, built through heavily worked layers of creams, pale blush and deep earthen brown oil.

The restrained palette allows the texture and mark-making to come forward, while the single darker square gives the work a strong central focus.

Its square format gives the art a graphic, architectural presence, balanced by the softness of the colour and richness of the texture.
