Rope Pull is an original oil on card by Marie Carroll, an artist known for her energetic depictions of Dublin life, coastal scenes and figures in movement. Born in London and trained at Goldsmiths College of Art, Carroll moved to Ireland during the 1970s. Her work reflects the influence of French Impressionism with colour, atmosphere and spontaneous mark-making taking precedence over precise detail. The immediacy of the brushwork in Rope Pull gives the artwork a strong sense of tension and movement.
