A chakla is a low, stable rolling board used in Indian homes and traditionally made from wood or stone and raised on small feet beneath the board. The substantial surface has developed deep fissures, softened edges and dark irregular markings through age and previous use. 

Style it beneath a vessel, group of candles or a small collection of objects, or allow the aged surface to stand alone.

Each crack, repair and variation in tone is part of the piece’s individual history.
