For generations, rounded clay vessels known as Matkas were used in Indian homes and villages to carry and store water while their porous earthen shape helped keep the contents naturally cool.

Our vessels are softly mottled with firing marks and variations in tone, so no two are quite the same. 

I love them left empty, but they also work beautifully with a few tall, loose branches — especially when you want something with enough scale to fill a corner or break up a larger space.

Please note: Each vessel is individually made and variations in tone, shape, markings and surface texture are inherent to the piece. When styling with fresh stems, we recommend placing a watertight container inside the vessel.
