Swan Song is an original abstract landscape by Irish artist Tom Byrne (b. 1962, Dublin), inscribed on the reverse with a reference to the mountains of Co. Galway. Loose bands of colour and a heavily worked surface give the painting its texture and depth.

The acid yellow, pale blue and soft pink tones are balanced by a darker, earthier foreground—a slightly unexpected grounding combination that I really like.

It also sits beautifully alongside our other Untitled — Tom Byrne in the collection. Their colours and proportions make them a natural pairing.
