Painted by Cathy Mansueto, this small original captures a robin perched on a richly worked branch. The warm russet and ochre tones, tactile brushwork and expression in the bird give the piece far more character than its modest scale might suggest.

Cathy paints for her own enjoyment rather than working commercially as an artist. I came across this little robin and liked it — the colour, the texture and the immediacy of it. It felt exactly like the small original The Quiet Edit should make room for.
