Designed by TAF Studio for Muuto, the ‘Wood’ Lamp is a wonderfully simple take on the traditional architect’s lamp, made almost entirely from pale pine with all of its bolts, joints and fixings deliberately left visible. I love the slightly makeshift quality of it — the timber, wing nuts and coloured cord make it feel almost handmade, while the proportions and construction are actually very considered.

The arm and shade can be adjusted, making it a lovely desk or reading lamp, but it’s just as interesting as an object in its own right. Originally designed in 2009/2010 and now discontinued, it is in good vintage condition.
