An original abstract work by Irish artist Tom Byrne (b. 1962, Dublin), composed in broad fields of yellow, chalky white, deep charcoal, blue-grey and green.
Byrne’s abstract work is characterised by strong blocks or fields of colour, layered paint and simplified, landscape-like divisions. The structured composition of this piece is very much in keeping with the Bauhaus influence evident throughout this side of his practice.
There is a strong graphic quality to this piece, with the composition reduced almost to its essential elements of colour and form. Its simplicity, scale and restrained palette make it a particularly natural fit for The Quiet Edit.
Signed by the artist and presented in a newly fitted frame.
